The very first Teatro Faialense, then designated by Teatro União Faialense, was built in 1856, starting the first regular theater in the Azores. Rebuilt in 1916, it was renamed Teatro Fayalense.
The Teatro Faialense was restored and expanded, supplying it with modern means and equipment.
The space is a success as a support infrastructure for cinema, theatre, dance and music, as well as for social interaction in the existing bar.
Teatro Faialense is thus made up of several spaces – Cine-Theatre, Auditorium, and Bar – where diverse events are held, providing an excellent cultural offer.
Services provided by Teatro Faialense include:
- Rental of spaces – Cine-Theater and Auditorium;
- Movie screening;
- Organization and performance of shows;
- Bar support service (by concession).
